Collection, Use and Sharing of Personal Information
We collect and store your e-mail address if you voluntarily supply it to us when you register, or if you subscribe to our email list. Your email address is stored at the email list server and can only be accessed by those who help manage those lists in order to deliver e-mails to those who signed-up to receive our material. This information is used to provide you with access to Site content, and to allow us to contact you with updates and newsletters (if you have indicated you would like to receive them).
Our website uses Google Analytics to analyse how users interact with the site. This is fairly standard practice amongst websites. It helps us keep track of the number of visitors to MySupermarkets and how to best serve them. You can read more about Google Analytics at this link.
We also use MailChimp as our mailing service to manage our email newsletter subscriptions. We share your email address and, if you provided your name to us, it will be shared with MailChimp. This allows us to send you personalised emails. We also use MailChimp to let us know how people interact with our emails – e.g. if/when they’re opened and what links are clicked. We use this information to try and improve our emails so they’re as useful as possible.
If you believe any of the information that we hold (e.g. your email address) is incorrect you can contact us to let us know and we’ll make sure it’s up to date.
If you would like to delete your account and remove all personal data stored, please contact us.
Moreover, we collect and use data contained in log files or cookies which include: your Internet Protocol (IP) address, your Internet Service Provider (ISP), the browser you used, the time you visited this Site, and the pages you visited throughout this Site, such collection and use being a standard practice on almost every website. We use this information to better understand how visitors use the Site, and to improve the Site to better meet our visitors’ needs. The amount of information that is sent by your web browser depends upon the browser and settings you use.
We do not sell your personal information to any third parties. However, we do share some information with trusted third parties who assist us in operating this Site, conducting our business, or servicing you, so long as those parties agree to keep this information confidential. We may also disclose your personal information when we believe such release is necessary to comply with the law, enforce this Site’s policies, or protect ours or others’ rights, property, or safety. However, non-personally identifiable visitor information may be provided to other parties for marketing, advertising, or other uses. We reserve the right to transfer personal information collected in the event that we merge with or are acquired by a third party. We may also disclose your personal information for any other purpose permitted by law or to which you consent.
The security of the personal information you provide to us is very important to us. As such, we do our best to ensure your information remains secure, and we maintain technical and procedural safeguards that are appropriate to the sensitivity of the personal information in question; however, you understand that there are inherent risks of providing information online. As such, by using this Site, you release us of any responsibility for any breach of security.
